KM Vertical do Fanal
Ribeira Funda - Fanal
The Fanal Vertical Kilometer is organized by the Funchal Mountain Club and had its debut in 2010. It was a new challenge and also a complement to the few trail running races that existed on the island of Madeira at that time.
This race starts in the small village of Ribeira Funda at an altitude of 78 meters, follows a trail immersed in the unique beauty of the Laurissilva forest, and finishes at Fanal at an altitude of 1078 meters.
